architecture on film: garden of eden

Hemingway's Garden of Eden is one of my favorite books and was quite the obsession when I was in high school. When I found out it was being made into a movie I had mixed emotions, especially when its release was delayed by two years. Although it's definitely not a great film by any stretch of the imagination, the set design and styling is spot on. You can't go wrong with French chateaus and mena suvari in a peroxided twiggy/edie sedgwick hairdo. Makes me want to go short again!

I love the pale and subdued color scheme with pops of blue and yellow. The striped boat shirts they are sporting reminds me of the one I just purchased from j. crew too!
